SO je zaměřena na objasnění postavení a úkolů OS ČR/AČR v bezpečnostním systému České republiky v kontextu mezinárodního bezpečnostního systému tvořeného OSN, EU a NATO. Zabývá se v teoretické a praktické rovině řízením Ozbrojených sil ČR, strukturou a funkcemi OS ČR/AČR, koncepčními otázkami výstavby ozbrojených sil a převažujícími trendy v této oblasti. Z hlediska aktuálních témat je v předmětu řešena adaptace AČR na aktuální vývoj v bezpečnostním prostředí a současného válečného konfliktu, zapojení AČR do posílení východního křídla NATO, dále do akcí na řešení krizí a udržování míru a bezpečnosti ve světě, profesionalizace, systém přípravy personálu, zdrojové zabezpečení obrany, iniciativy EU a NATO na posílení evropské bezpečnosti a regionální formy vojenské spolupráce zemí střední a východní Evropy.

The course is focused on explaining the position and tasks of the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic / the Czech Armed Forces within the security system of the Czech Republic in the context of the international security system formed by the UN, the EU, and NATO. It addresses, on both the theoretical and practical levels, the management of the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic, the structure and functions of the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic / the Czech Armed Forces, conceptual issues related to force development, and the prevailing trends in this field. With regard to current topics, the course also examines the adaptation of the Czech Armed Forces to ongoing developments in the security environment and to contemporary armed conflict, the involvement of the Czech Armed Forces in strengthening NATO’s eastern flank, as well as in crisis response operations and in maintaining peace and security worldwide, professionalisation, the personnel training system, defence resource provision, EU and NATO initiatives aimed at strengthening European security, and regional forms of military cooperation among the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
