O tom, proč je „nová Hedvábná stezka“ na severu zatím jen mýtem a co skutečně pluje podél zamrzlých břehů Sibiře, jsme hovořili s kolegou z INFO.CZ a ředitelem Centra asijsko-pacifických studií na CEVRO Univerzitě Janem Železným.

ANALYSIS | Donald Trump wants to buy Greenland, and Europe fears that the Arctic could become yet another real-estate transaction of the White House. But while Washington is preoccupied with where to plant the flag, a much quieter—but far more consequential—game is unfolding on the other side of the pole. China and Russia are building an alliance of convenience, one that is not aimed at immediately speeding up deliveries of cheap goods to Rotterdam, but rather at ensuring survival in the event of a global conflict. We spoke with a colleague from INFO.CZ and the Director of the Center for Asia-Pacific Studies at CEVRO University, Jan Železný, about why the “new Silk Road” in the north remains largely a myth for now, and what is actually sailing along the frozen shores of Siberia.
