Dne 6. 3. 2026 komentoval Filip Sommer, ředitel Centra blízkovýchodních vztahů (PCMR) CEVRO Univerzity, současnou situaci v Libanonu v souvislosti se střety mezi Izraelskými obrannými silami (IDF) a hnutím Hizballáh. Tento konflikt výrazně postihl například jižní části země (jižně od řeky Lítání), východní část údolí Bikáa nebo jižní předměstí Bejrútu zvané Dáhíja, které je obývané převážně šíitskou populací. Konflikt zasáhl stovky tisíc lidí, kteří museli opustit své domovy a nyní hledají útočiště v jiné části země.

On March 6, 2026, Filip Sommer, Director of the Prague Center for Middle East Relations (PCMR) at CEVRO University, commented on the current situation in Lebanon in connection with the clashes between the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and Hezbollah. This conflict has significantly affected, for example, the southern parts of the country (south of the Litani River), the eastern part of the Bekaa Valley, and the southern suburbs of Beirut called Dahiya, which is inhabited mainly by a Shia population. The conflict has affected hundreds of thousands of people who have had to leave their homes and are now seeking refuge in other parts of the country.
